OK, everyone.
I want to do a little something special as a "Welcome Back" gesture, now that RWI is back online. As such, I am including my favorite strap maker, who got his start right here on RWI - Savage Straps. So, please post up your favorite strap here, for any watch and from any maker, and a description of why it is your favorite. Pics are a big plus! We all love our pretty pictures, right? The winner will be picked at my discretion. It may be for the best pic, it may be for the best description of "why" it's your favorite, it might even be completely arbitrary. It's my raffle, I get to make the rules. ![]() Once the winner is announced, simply go to www.savagestraps.com and pick your favorite - keep in mind that Savage is a 100% custom strap maker, so you can pick ANY SIZE/WIDTH/STITCH/HIDE/WHATEVER that you want. Keep in mind he doesn't like to do tapered straps, however. You place your order through Scot (being sure to let him know you're the raffle winner), he contacts me after your order is placed, and I pay. It's just that simple. I'll even give you an example: My favorite strap is Scot's SAV in natural tan strap. I love the coloration and the quality of the hide. It's thick and substantial, without being overly stiff. It develops a wonderful patina as you wear it. Not to mention the wonderful smell of the hide! It is my favorite strap, without question and the one I wore the most on my gen PAM114 and 002. Pics: ![]() ![]() Please keep in mind this does NOT have to be a strap for a Panerai watch, even though that is what Scot is most well known for. Alright, everybody, welcome back and let's see those posts! Also, a little birdie told me that another free raffle - this one for a watch - is soon to be appearing here on RWI, so keep your eyes peeled!!!!

Gunny 317
When the Slytech arrived, the rep strap was immediately removed. I put a nice, dressy strap from DON on it, but the result lacked testosterone or something.
The 317 is 6mm thick yet very, very soft. Add the hard chromed sub buckle from 8A, and the result is surprisingly comfortable and compliments the 202, IMO. I only have two PAMs, but I'm starting to get the strap thing. The softness of these straps is amazing! I will buy more, I'm sure. ![]()

I have so many straps from makers such as Tootall,Panatime,Greg Stevens,Gunny,JSwing,Toshi,Kain Heritage,Steinhart, Wotancraft,Heroic 18,Giovani E Figlio but not yet from Savage.
It is hard to pick a favourite but I love this Vintage strap from Donerix at Hamilton leather. It is so soft and has an amazing brass buckle on it.

I spotted this beauty on a Gen forum last year, and contacted the owner of the photo to find out where the strap came from. It is a 'Ted Su' and made from a swiss ammo bag. Like Savage custom straps, each strap is one of a kind and this one even has authentic swiss markings, sometimes even the original issue date of the bag. (borrowed photo)
![]() If I win, I will request that Scot put together a strap that resembles this, it's my grail strap! Good luck to all!

With Red12, you will be stronger ;)
Not too difficult regarding my PAM : I have only one strap
![]() I have tried several types and they were always either too thin or too thick. I've been envying all those vintage straps in the wristshots threads, but they were just silly on my tiny wrist. Red12 made me a strap to measure, and that changed my life : suddendly I became beautiful, women stared at me, I had white teeth without having to use hydrogen peroxyd, and my boss increased my wages overnight !! I even wonder if I did not grow a few centimeters... in the length :cool2: More seriously, that's my favorite strap, as it is exactly what I dreamt for my modded 111 : I chose everything, a vintage leather with substance, amount of holes, colour of the stitching and of the side, length, and quite rare, I could get it tappered 24/22 but also in the thickness (6 to 3 mm). As a result, the PAM does not look huge on me. ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() These straps have nothing to do with aesthetics. They are pure emotion. JellyJoe
