The competition here is ruthless. Nice pics everyone. Hooligan, i'm not kissing ass when I say I like that combo you've got there. The Savage makes that watch.
When I started out with reps ala RWG1, I saw a picture of a 177H on strapculture posing on a drafting table next to some (drafting) equipment. It was a few years ago, so forgive me for not remembering who's this was. I knew this was the direction I wanted to head, so I ordered the watch and started shopping straps. I ended up with my 177H on Strapculture legend, historic brown with match stitch. It didn't quite match the picture on their site, but its a great strap. My 177H has a bit of a history. It arrived broken, running erratic. Me being new to this, I was panicked. Through the caseback, I was able to make out that the mainspring apppeared to be strangling itself. ![]() ![]() I was so nervous to attempt any repair, but I mustered up the courage and rolled up a wad of tape and carried on. A gentle nudge with a toothpick popped the spring into place. I gave the watch new life, giving us a real bond. Not too long later, I think I broke it's heart when I received some mail from Breitling. I layed the watch to rest that night on the envelope. I give you, my "Dead at Midnight" Pam. With a 50+ hr power reserve, think for a second. What are the chances of this? ![]() Anyhow, You said you liked pics, and she's always been photogenic. Careful what you ask for ![]() I've come a long way since the day she came home: ![]() getting better: ![]() ![]() Getting serious lately. This is my most recent pics, before I got my Canon Rebel. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love this Savage strap, if I were to win it would be this one, no question... And maybe a '50 or something to go with it. A new Pam, an interesting strap with new stories, and a new camera to take it all in with. Savage Straps- New Tan w/ brown (black?) stitch: ![]() Thanks for this raffle, even if I don't win, I had fun sharing my history with Pam. |

Great contest, Hooligan! I have three of Savage's straps and I guess my favorite is the latest one--perhaps because it is the latest one and also because he had to stitch it onto the watch for me--my first ever franken: the Deco Bezel Sorta. That's a PAM 000.5 (in other words, 1/2 a PAM). The strap is thick and stiff when I first put it on, then it softens and becomes incredibly comfortable from body heat. Scot was also really good about offering aesthetic advice on the stitching appropriate to the watch.

Ok, my entry is going the be a little lame, since I don't have anything with a good strap to take an awesome picture of, but that is the point - I am totally jonesing for a homage PAM, and you can't have a killer PAM without a killer strap, so I would pick this one:
![]() Savage stitchless in graphite blue. Why? because the blue gets no love, and you could totally rock it with a PVD or stealth PAM and it would look great! How about that - I could buy a watch to go with a strap instead of the other way around! |
