D4....A commendable and worthy effort, warning, and lesson. Sadly, there are always those who believe the outright lies and will keep buying from the scammers, because they want something for nothing. Living in Las Vegas for 10 years has brought that mindset home for sure. As clear and succict as your post is, we will continue to get posts asking about and then whining about getting cornholed by these people. But then, for 79 bucks, what can you expect?

There is no shame in buying from a site like this when you are new to this hobby. You are not at fault when you are unsuspecting and someone deliberately takes advantage of you. HOWEVER, if you have found these forums, and have not gleaned anything from the thousands and thousands of pages of information on here in regards to buying outside of the forum, you deserve what ever happens to you.

I'd be in on it for certain. I'm not into Hublot at the moment but that's not what this is about; this is about supporting a 'just cause' and saying THANK YOU to people like D4M that go out of their way to help others (trust me, I know it personally). You'd get your money back and the remainder could be donated to the forum. Win-win.

It's things like this that make me wish I'd found exactly this forum and exactly this post a year ago, then I wouldn't have wasted that time thinking the rep game was a den of thieves!

I feel bad for you that you got burned for your own ready cash, but kudos for taking the hit in the name of education.

I doff my hat to you, sir.

Default a lesson for new and old members ..... AND Crooks!

d4me and takashi, very very important post.

a lesson for new and old members
........ AND crooks!! you better believe it....! I happened upon RWI having googled up a Fakey sh!tlist seller that I had just concluded a transaction with and contrary to what you guys may think I was pretty chilled. Been buying things from CN for ages so wasn't overly nervous about the fact that the item appeared untrackable, mismatched inventory etc.. finally saw it tracked as "Handed over to Customs" and there it remained for quite a while. Eager to establish what the sites policy was on seizures, I googled its name and up THE list came.

After I had regained composure and resigned myself to the inevitable. My milgauss arrived (soon to be reviewed with a link here) and I was pleased. I read up on the movement and learned as much as I could absorb and have now a reasonable understanding of that particular model.

Since then I have seen many trusted dealer sites and been shown also ioffer sites. The problem arises because of the russian roulette nature of unsafe coitus is a turn on for some RWIers. That or they are irretrievably stupid.

I assure you, the crooks are not. As d4me has already said, THEY will have all the convincers ("QC's by myself in person, Unitas Swan Neck.., Swiss this , Ceramic that " ) THEY will do their homework and discuss the rep in the parlance of a rep hunter who thinks he is well informed enough to leave the safety of his lagoon and swim with the sharks.

Take it from someone who has paid over the odds for a decent rep, I WISH I'd found RWI before my transaction. I'm happy though, I would have been gutted to pay less and recieve something I wouldn't wear to a dogs funeral.

Thing is the crooks who are any good do look at fora and are familiar with what the customer/ their mark / prey wants. They look at trusted dealer sites and the more dangerous ones are more sophisticated than using pics of GENS. NO no no,.. they use pictures of the most accurate REPS out there , V5 , V Ultimate, V Final but you will be lucky not to recieve a dud if you recieve anything at all. In the very least you pay for a quality v3 / v5 DSSD at a lower price and get a v1 or below. How good does that deal look now? Just forked out for shipping + watch and you have an unwearable watch.

Crooks are learning lessons all the time. Only ego and greed will prevent a member from concluding a successful transaction.... and THEY rely on that. THEY are getting smarter, and with this resource it would be tragic that YOU don't wise up. Shop safe , shop smart and be thankful to d4me that we even have an RWI - the definite repository for anything rep!

... or get burned --- its entirely up to you, just dont come back crying and expect sympathy from me

ROFL! I will use that one, if you don't mind!

I like the raffle idea. I'd be in, just to get G back to even.
