Don't bother you guys. The watch is mine. It has my initials on it. My name is India Whiskey Charlie.

How much will post-production editing affect this? There are some people here that are just downright wicked with Photoshop.
Maybe all the pics should be submitted in RAW format.

pics in RAW isn't fair - that's just the potential for what a photo can become.
perhaps radically changing the photo shouldn't be allowed - but RAW simply provides a basis for giving a photo the color, shading, etc that you want. nothing wrong with that.

I'm using PS, always... At my humble level, as my skills are far from the PS geeks. And I know that this topic always pops up when contests are launched.
I believe that PS does not make a good pic, it enables to improve or change its atmosphere. But if the pic is bad, it is bad. If it's not original, it has few chances to become so.What is a picture in the end ? The photographer's mind : no software will replace this. Besides, we all know that all pics are photoshopped nowadays : some in an outrageous way, some in a discrete one. The most important IMO is to see the result, not how it was reached. If you want a raw pic, you also should forbid light tents, filters, long exposures for lumeshots etc... BTW, my best pics (to my eyes) were realized without PS (see my avatar). ![]() However many artifices were used to build it : kind of PS "live". So where's the limit between a raw picture and a picture that is modified ..? And who want babes without make-up ?
